Reading the title makes me think of one of my favorite quotes…
‘Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself’. Most of the time my life creation is raw and unplanned, so having this little class is a good thing to help me with structure. Then again…it’s only week 2, maybe a little early to draw complex life metaphors, that’s best left to Oprah and friends.
In the meantime I thought I would share the assignments I completed this week. asymmetry is the topic for this week, I thought I would have an easy go, I think my pages probably fall in the asymmetrical category most of the time.
Assignment 1: Park Play
Assignment 2…This one didn’t come so easily, let’s just say Cathy Z’s version of asymmetry and the concept as I see it are pretty far about. I think tilted, lots of white space, clusters, etc. So this layout was a HUGE struggle, oh how I whined — I don’t like double page layouts, I can’t jump the gutter, blah, blah, blah. Good thing I did it a crop with the most wonderful girls who have a zero tolerance for whining (moms of boys are tough) who told me to basically ‘put my big girl panties, deal with it, and learn from it’I still don’t love it, let’s face it, I’ll never love it. But I did learn I can survive and that rounded corners and cupcakes can heal many wounds.
For those of you keeping track, I also did the real world color challenge. I just need to journal. I’ll share it at some point.
