Three cheers for happy accidents…

I swear this is straighter in real life, at least I hope so.

This is one of those pages that came about as a happy accident.  If you were paying close attention to my peek post earlier this week, you might have noticed it in the collage.   Something was missing at that point.  When in doubt break out the mist, I admit even for me it takes a big batch of confidence to mist on a completed layout…but I decided to try anyway.  Oops, the first try didn’t quite work out how I planned.  I thought I was going to have to start all over and in frustration ripped the top half of the layout off.  And then it hit me I can just mist a separate piece and stick it behind.  Love that the torn edge gives a snowy look to the layout.  Ta-Da!

A peek into my crafty world…

Like many other obsessed crafty girls I was stalking the pics and posts from CHA a couple of weeks ago.  Somewhere along the way, I came across a crafter that takes a picture of her desk everyday and posts it in a flickr set.  I thought ‘what a cool idea‘ —  ambitious and dedicated.  So I set about trying to duplicate the idea last week — and while I skipped a couple of days and don’t have the flickr set rolling yet, I thought I’d share just a little of what’s been going on in my space.

Sorry kids, a cold has taken over my brain and can’t seem to formulate anything to write in this post, but I do have a quick layout to share.

Thanks to Ronda who let me come play and watch as she works her way through great projects for her upcoming book,  I actually scrapped some photos I printed out oh a month or so ago.  I think one of my favorite things about scrapbooking is pulling out summer photos on a cold and wintery day and reminding ourselves the sun will shine again…someday.

Since a layout doesn’t seem to be complete these days without a little shimmer and glimmer, I decided to paint the Studio Calico tree paper with some Sugar Cane glimmer glaze and added some highlights and splotches with  Espresso Bean and Tutu Pink Glimmer Glam.
